Material: Portland Natural Stone Cladding
Cavendish Place lies in the prestigious Regent Street conservation area. Here, strict criteria govern development to respect historical fabric. Since it’s close to a Grade II listed building, the site presents both a challenge and an opportunity. Therefore, balancing innovation and preservation becomes essential.
Firstly, the architectural firm Squire & Partners spearheads the redevelopment. In addition, structural engineer Price & Myers and services engineer Hoare Lea support the project. The plan includes a nine-story, state-of-the-art CAT A office space. Furthermore, the lower and ground floors host flexible retail spaces. Meanwhile, the upper floors are dedicated to premium offices. Valued at £12 million, this project significantly boosts commercial appeal.
One notable feature is the Natural Stone Cladding made from Portland stone. Our team expertly designed, supplied, and fitted this cladding. Consequently, it harmonises with the surrounding architecture and respects heritage considerations. Besides offering a visually striking finish, the cladding ensures durability and sustainability. Hence, it aligns with modern environmental standards.
Our process for this project begins with purchasing high-quality Portland stone in block form. These blocks are then transported to our factory in Saintfield, where they are meticulously cut and shaped to precise specifications. Skilled craftsmen then hand finish each piece, ensuring both aesthetic excellence and structural integrity. Once completed, the stones are carefully hand-packed to guarantee their safety during transit. Subsequently, they are delivered to the site, where our expert on-site stonemasons fit each stone with precision. This comprehensive and meticulous process ensures a flawless integration of the stone with the existing architecture. Read more about our process here.
In conclusion, the 7-11 Cavendish Place Office Redevelopment successfully merges historical conservation with contemporary design. By preserving the Regent Street conservation area’s integrity, the project sets a benchmark for future urban developments. As a result, it enriches Marylebone’s architectural landscape, boosts commercial viability, and attracts businesses and retailers.
